I took these pictures three months ago. Definitely one of my favorite cycling trails here in Garcia-Hernandez.

Sabang

Mabuhi!

This spot is one of my favorite place here in Garcia-Hernandez. Townsfolk here call this place Sabang which is a Visayan term for river mouth. This ever changing estuary amuses me every time I visit this place, one day it's straight out to the Bohol Sea then a week after it curves around to the other side of what used to be the river mouth the past week. Other times, it extends sideways creating a sandbar.

Can you spot the silhouette of Camiguin island in the background?

I was with my kids in this particular trip which was purely unplanned but we definitely enjoyed the views. You can imagine how amazed the girls were, fascinated with all their discoveries.

We were able to see a shallow tide pool, lots of tiny snails, and small crabs, and seaweeds growing on top of stones. And best of all, we were able to catch a beautiful sunset.

Sabang is within walking distance from the Municipal Hall of Garcia-Hernandez. The town is 54 km away from Tagbilaran City, in the Province of Bohol.
