"O Inahan, sa Kanunayng Panabang; tabangi kami, tabangi kami." (Oh Mother of Perpetual Help, help us, help us.)
Mabuhi!
It's been a month since the Feast Day of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. All chapels in our parish whose patron is the Lady of Perpetual Succour celebrated this townwide feast.
As for the St. John the Baptist Parish of Garcia-Hernandez, we have 2-3 chapels per Baranggay. So you can imagine how busy people were during this day.
Vesper
The procession of the different images of Our Lady is one of the highlights on the eve of April 27th.
Feast Day
Feast days are commemorated with a mass in each chapel. The whole day is mostly spent on various parlor games, sport activities, and Filipino traditional games catering to all group ages.
Other folks are busy cooking different meals for the dinner social.
The main event comes in the evening with the get together dinner. Activities could be as simple as a short program, or as grand as theater acts, and talent contest.
Surely, aside from the beach, family reunions, and fiestas, celebrations like this is what makes Filipinos miss the countryside when summertime comes.
